Sylvan Roots in Concert

Sylvan Roots, a New Hampshire acoustic trio, will perform at the library on Wednesday, September 12, at 7 pm. Along with some original material, their music includes well-known and more obscure roots music of the folk and blues tradition, with influences as wide as Bill Staines, Woody Guthrie, Louis Armstrong, Nanci Griffith, and Tom Paxton. Their music is driven by traditional folk, acoustic rock, protest-era songs of the 50's and 60's along with more contemporary sounds. The style of each member is varied and comes from a long performance and listening tradition. The trio consists of Bob Moore on finger style rhythm guitar and vocals; Dick Kruppa on rhythm guitar, 5-string banjo, percussion and vocals; and Neal Zweig on lead guitar.

This program is open to adults and teens. Seating is limited and a reservation is recommended by clicking here. You can also call 424-5021 or email the Reference Department at
