|Nancy (left) and Pat on Mt. Jefferson|
If it's not about the hike, what IS it about? Join
Nancy Sporborg and Pat Piper at the library on Wednesday, July 11, at 7 pm to learn the answer to this question. Nancy and Pat have climbed all 67 4,000 ft. mountains in New England, plus more than 100 smaller mountains. But the hiking is only incidental to the personal challenges that arise when you push yourself out of your comfort zone and reach for what you thought were unattainable goals. What Nancy and Pat learned about their ability to climb metaphorical mountains while climbing the physical mountains is at the heart of this inspiring story.
Nancy has written It's Not About the Hike to encourage others to stretch themselves to new limits. Each chapter focuses on a particular hike, accompanied by professional-quality photos taken by Pat and Nancy. And each chapter talks about the personal challenges they faced at the time they were hiking that mountain. This beautiful glossy book will be for sale for cash or check ($35.00) after the hour-long presentation.
