Once Upon a Time

"Once Upon a Time" on TV will soon head to summer reruns. If you need another dose of all those fairy tale characters, come on by the library to pick up a book from the display area. Traditional fare is available with the original tales. Then there are modern twists like Politically Correct Bedtime Stories and Urban Legends. You'd be surprised how many contemporary novels have been inspired by fairy tales. Wicked by Gregory Maguire even made it to the Broadway stage. Ed McBain did a whole series of mysteries with folklore connections. And there are numerous fantasy novels in the science fiction section with the fairy tale connection.
