Stephen King VS, The Help

We just came off a display battle between "Are you a fan of Stephen King?" and "Did you like The Help?"

There are lots of scary, eerie, and haunting authors writing, and a covey of them gathered near the reference desk. Dean Koontz, Peter Straub, Ted Dekker, Clive Barker and others joined Stephen King for the month. Just the image of King's Maine mansion with its spider web gates could bring a shudder as we passed by.

For The Help, there were selections like The Secret Life of Bees, The Women of Brewster Place, The Queen of Palmyra, and other titles featuring women and their relationships, and southern settings. The debut of the movie by the same title was a boost to this selection, I'm sure. But many of the titles are just good summer reads as well.

Have you guessed the winner? The Help by Kathryn Stockett came out first. See the movie, read the book, and enjoy!
