Storm Chasers at the Library

Pictured at left is the Moore family of Merrimack: Charlene, Ron Jr., Caleb and Josh. The Moores are an ordinary family (Ron is pastor of the Church at the Intersection) with a highly thrilling hobby: storm chasing.

Armed with scientific and photographic equipment, the Moores visit states in the south and the plains where tornadoes are likely to develop. (Think, "We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto." ) Ron has been interested in weather since boyhood and took his wife stormchasing for their second date. Luckily, Charlene also took to the adventure, and they've passed that love of stormchasing to their sons.

The Moores will be at the library on Thursday, July 7 to talk about their adventures and show videos of their recent trip to the plains. They will bring their equipment so you can see what they use in their investigations. The program begins at 7 pm, and we are expecting a large turnout, so it's best to save a seat here or call 424-5021.
