Silent movie accompanist Richard Hughes will present "The Golden Age of Silent Films" on Wednesday, February 23, at 7 pm. Hughes will take us back to the early days of motion pictures, before "talkies" were invented, when dialog appeared in elaborate frames in between the action shots and a nimble-fingered pianist set the mood.
Hughes will show three comedy shorts and accompany them on a keyboard. He'll also provide commentary about the films, which will feature some of the funniest stars of the silent film era.
This program is open to all adults and teens. We'll need to know how much popcorn to make, so please register online, call 424-5021, or email us. This is sure to be lots of fun. Hope to see you there.
