Meet Some Aspiring Filmmakers

If I gave you the following 3 elements, how would you use them to tell an 8 minute story?

Character: Dr. Clark or Claire Larson, plastic surgeon
Prop: a box
Line of dialog: "I need to tell you something."

Could you write the story, shoot it, and edit the film in just 2 days? Come meet a local film company that did just that!

Merrimack Public Library will host local filmmaker Tim Morgan on Wednesday, August 11, at 7 p.m. Tim Morgan was the team leader/co-writer/director for the Rising Phoenix Productions team in the 48 Hour Film Project New Hampshire (48HFP NH), where teams write, shoot and edit a short film in 48 hours. "Our team is not to be confused with the award-winning team of the same name from Philadelphia," says Tim with a laugh. "I don't know how anyone could do that. We didn't win anything but we had a great time. That's all that matters."

Join Morgan and fellow team members, co-writer Chris Parent and cameraman/editor Alex Azzi, as they recount their experience preparing for the 2010 48HFP. From "What have I gotten us into!" to viewing the completed short on the big screen, Tim and the team will take you through the wild ride that is making a film in two days. The team will screen their "mockumentary" and answer questions. This was Morgan's first entry in the annual event, and he vows to be back.

Seating is limited and we recommend you register by going to http://tinyurl.com/mmkplfilm or calling us at 424-5021.
