Sarah Orne Jewett's Characters Come to Life

On Wednesday, June 23, at 7 pm, we welcome back Greg Gathers and M. Marguerite Mathews of Portsmouth's Pontine Theatre in an original play based on The Country of the Pointed Firs, by Sarah Orne Jewett. Dunnet Landing Stories is a series of vignettes featuring new tales about some of the memorable people who inhabit Dunnet Landing on the Maine coast. Poignant, funny, and heart-warming, these stories are sure to please.

Greg and Marguerite were here last year with Silver Lake Summers: an e. e. cummings Revue, which examined cummings summers near Mt. Chocorua. Their productions are characterized by minimalist sets and costumes, and by unique puppets. It's hard to describe, but when you see them, you'll be impressed with how they contribute to the play. You can see two of their puppets in the photo above. You can also see more at their website.

Seating is limited, and we recommend you click here or call 424-5021 to reserve a seat.
