Who was Elizabeth Blackwell?

Join us on Tuesday, March 30, at 7 p.m. for A Lady Alone: Elizabeth Blackwell, America's First Woman Doctor, a one-woman play by N. Lynn Eckhert, MD, Harvard Medical School. Linda Gray Kelley will portray Blackwell, who graduated from Geneva Medical College in 1849. Rejected by her male colleagues, she never lost sight of her goal, and graduated first in her class. Unable to secure an internship in America, she studied in Europe before returning to establish the New York Infirmary for Women and Children, which is still in existence today.

Linda Gray Kelley is an accomplished actress and playwright whose Theatre Rising Unlimited productions presents inspirational one-person shows around the globe. You can visit her website for more information about her. We thank the Friends of the Merrimack Public Library for their generous support of this special performance.
