How do you combine an architecture degree with a talent for producing music videos? You go to Tanzania. At least that's what's Moriah Arrato Gavrish did. An accomplished an energetic leader, Moriah has visited Tanzania three times to work on video projects for Arts in Tanzania.
Moriah will be at the library on Wednesday, August 26, at 7 pm for "Adventures in Africa" a slide show about her most recent project designing the Mapinga Educational and Vocational Center. Based on her Master of Architecture thesis, the center will eventually include classrooms, an arts center, and recreational facilities where music and video projects can be developed to foster and promote the artistic culture of this developing country.
Moriah is a graduate of Pinkerton Academy and Norwich University, and the daughter of our former Assistant Director, Diane Arrato Gavrish. She will have some entertaining stories to tell about her work with people she has come to love in a nation most of us know little about. The program is free and open to all. Seating is limited and reservations are recommended. Call 424-5021 or email to save a seat.
