Loons at the Library!

Is there anyone who doesn't love to see loons cruising on a lake, especially when chicks are along for the ride? The photo at left was taken by Auburn wildlife photographer John Rockwood who will be at the library on Tuesday, February 24, at 7 p.m. with "Common Loons of New Hampshire." His photos have been exhibited at the Massabesic Audubon Center and the Loon Center in Moultonborough, among other NH locations. He will share his stunning slides and stories of his adventures among the loons. Please join us! Seating is limited and reservations are strongly recommended. Call 424-5021 or email us.

And while we're talking about birds, be sure to see our display case this month. Merrimack's own Vera Clifford is exhibiting wildlife photos, many taken in her backyard. She describes herself as an amateur, but these photos look professional to me. Don't miss this beautiful exhibit, on display until the end of February.
