Yesterday at 10:30 a.m. our new ILS, Polaris, went "live." You can now see the new catalog by clicking the link on our website. The catalog has a whole new look. You have more search options available. You will need to log in to your account to reserve items, see what you have out, renew items, change your password, etc. You will see the Log In link just above the photo of the library.
You can now change your account information and preferences online. If you need to change your phone number, email address, and preferences for notices, you can do that right at your account page. Address changes are subject to staff review, since we need to monitor resident/ nonresident status changes.
As far as we can tell, all operations at the catalog are functioning properly, but since we aren't accessing the catalog remotely--like you may be--we might not see problems that need attention. If you have any trouble with the catalog, please call us at 424-5021 or email. We will answer your questions or pass the information along to someone who can help. There are a few strange things happening in the staff modules right now, but we are getting them smoothed out quickly. Please be patient with us--the staff functions are dramatically different from Horizon, and we are scurrying to get ourselves up to speed.
We are so grateful to the folks at Polaris and our wizards at the GMILCS office, Marilyn and Lisa, for the short and mostly sweet transition to our new system. We hope you will enjoy it.
