A Fresh Start for A New Library Building
The Merrimack Public Library Board of Trustees recently voted to reconvene a Library Building Development & Marketing Committee. The committee will be made up of community residents and stakeholders. Its purpose has four parts: to reevaluate space needs, to recommend a viable and affordable solution, to project operational, infrastructure and staffing costs and to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy. Former Selectman Dick Hinch has agreed to Chair the committee. Following its first organizational meeting on Wednesday, September 3 at 7 pm, the committee is slated to meet at the library on the second Tuesday of each month starting in October. Anyone interested in participating is encouraged to forward a letter of intent by August 15, 2008 to the Library Trustees c/o Merrimack Public Library, 470 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, NH 03054. For more information, call Barbara Tucker, Chair of the Library Trustees at 429-1012.
