Beauty in Science and Spirit

The library will host Dr. Paul H. Carr of Bedford for a talk and book signing on Tuesday, May 6, at 7 p.m. Dr. Carr is the author of Beauty in Science and Spirit, a response to the debate between the religious fundamentalists and the atheistic scientists that has spawned recent titles like The God Delusion and The Reason for God.

Dr. Carr is a retired physicist and the son of a minister who believes that we can bridge the divide between spirit and science by allowing our spirit to be nourished by the beautiful harmony present in the laws of nature. "Can humanity reconcile two of its deepest drives: the drive to understand the things we see, and to understand the things we feel. If so, that would be beautiful indeed," says Dr. Carr.

Join us for this thought-provoking program. Dr. Carr will sell and sign copies of his book for cash or personal check. Reservations are recommended for limited seating, so call us at 424-5021 or email to save a seat.
