New Year's Resolutions

It's that time of year again! The time we all dread! Everyone asks us about our New Year's resolutions. I don't usually take this too seriously, but coming off a disgracefully untidy Christmas season--very unusual for me--I am vowing to be more organized in 2008. Also, getting those Christmas cards from far-flung friends prompts me to resolve to make more of an effort to visit and/or call my college friends and colleagues that have moved out of New England. Life is too short, and, as we come to the end of our 6th decade, it becomes even more important to remind friends how much they mean to us.

How about some library-related resolutions for 2008? Here's some suggestions:
  • Resolve to visit the library every two weeks
  • Resolve to borrow a magazine on a topic you know nothing about
  • Resolve to read a biography of one person you know nothing about
  • Resolve to attend at least one library program for adults
  • Resolve to return your library books on time :-)

So, do you have some library resolutions for 2008? Tell us by clicking the comment link below, and we'll post them here. You can be anonymous if you wish. Happy New Year from all your friends at the Merrimack Public Library!
