"The Moose of Humor" Comes to Town

Next month, the library will present it's third annual "One Book, One Town" event. This one will feature The Best Revenge, by Rebecca Rule of Northwood, arguably the funniest woman in New Hampshire. Becky's website identifies her as "The Moose of Humor" ("muse" aka "moose") and her stories of small-town NH life are simply hilarious and sometimes uncomfortably close to home.

Becky will visit the library for smoozing and signing on Monday, October 1 at 7 p.m. on the main floor of the library. The laughter may disturb those trying to use the library in peace that evening, but it's well worth the disruption. Stop in for a chuckle and a snack.

Becky will return for our monthly book discussion on October 17 at 7 p.m. Copies of The Best Revenge are now available for check-out at the Circulation Desk.

Other entertaining Yankees be speaking here, too, including New Hampshire Union Leader columnist John Clayton and Merrimack's own Windsor chair craftsman, Chuck Mower. You can speak here, too, by participating in "Tall Tales and Other Yankee Stories," a public forum in which you can share your own stories of life in New Hampshire. And there's more on tap! The complete schedule of events can be seen on our website.
