Calling All Sailors and Landlubbers!

It's time to break out the cardboard, glue, duct tape, and other allowed materials and make your boat for the library's 12th Annual Cardboard Boat Festival on Saturday, September 8 (rain date, Sunday, September 9) at Wasserman Park on Naticook Lake. The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be free parking with a shuttle to take you to the waterfront.

In addition to the usual categories, we've added a new one called Same Day Sailors. For a non-refundable materials fee, you will receive a kit with everything you need to construct a boat between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., when the races begin. So now you have no excuse not to enter the race!

Bring your whole family and spend the day. We'll have t-shirts and refreshments for sale, a day-long book sale, raffles, entertainment, and events just for kids. And of course, the highlight of the day is the races which are fun to watch and even more fun to compete in.

So, what are you waiting for? Check out the details on the festival page and start collecting your supplies. On your mark...get set...GO!
