Heal Your Wheels

Chilton's automotive manuals have been the standard for do-it-yourself auto repair for years. Consumers can buy editions for many individual makes and models, and libraries can also buy the big Chilton's Auto Repair Manual and Import Auto Repair Manual, each of which cover several model years. A few years ago, Merrimack Library stopped buying the Chilton's manuals. Why? Because we found something better.

The Auto Repair Reference Center brings all of the Chilton's knowledge right to your computer. Simply choose the year, make, model, and engine size of your vehicle, and the program will take you to detailed text and diagrams for each of your car's systems. In addition to repair procedures and maintenance intervals, you can also see service bulletins and recall notices, as well as wiring diagrams. Best of all, you can use this at home, print out the information you need and take it right out to your garage, even when the library's closed. Most makes and models are included, with a few exceptions.

To use ARRC, visit our home page at and click on Databases. Scroll down to AARC, and click. Enter your library card number when prompted. Proceed through the steps to select your vehicle. It's easy! And it doesn't have to sit on a shelf taking up space.
