Landscape Designer Robert Gillmore to Jump-Start Spring

I'm writing this on a snowy, sleety, slushy Sunday afternoon. I don't know about you, but I'm really sick of this prolonged winter. Only skiers, snowmobilers and snowplowers (like my husband) applauded this latest weather forecast. When I booked our first May program for adults, I didn't know that we'd still be looking at snow in mid-April. This program may be just what we need to send winter packing for good.

On Tuesday, May 1, at 7 p.m., landscape designer and consultant Robert Gillmore will present "How to Make Large, Lush, Low-Maintenance Gardens." His focus is private, natural woodland gardens using trees, shrubs, and groundcovers, rather than flowerbeds and lawns. Thus, the "low-maintenance" part of the program title. Gillmore is the owner of Evergreen, a one-acre woodland garden in Goffstown that is open to the public free of charge on the first weekend in June. This year, it will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 1-3.

Gillmore is also the author of Beauty All around You: How to Create Large Private Low-Maintenance Gardens, Even on Small Lots and Small Budgets and The Woodland Garden, both of which will be available for sale and autographing at the program. Cash and personal check will be accepted.

As always, seating is limited and reservations are recommended. You can reserve your seat by calling 424-5021 or emailing.
